Administrative Assistant

Position Title: Administrative Assistant (bilingual: English/Spanish)

Department: Business/Administrative Office

Reports to: Executive Director

Schedule: Part-time, 27 hours per week

Summary:

The Administrative Assistant will be stationed at the DVRC Hillsboro office. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to Executive Director, Finance Director and the Community Fund Developer Director. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

1.  Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Acts as project manager for special projects, at the request of the Executive Director.

2.  Performs general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mail distribution and filing.

3.  Provide reception back-up coverage when needed following the DVRC programs policies and procedures, which can include:

a.  Greeting incoming visitors and checking in clients.

b.  Answering and assisting all incoming phone calls.

c.  Opening/closing the office.

5.  Provide administrative support to the business administrative department. Projects will depend on the need from the administrative team. Support may include:

a.  Running and gathering information to process payroll

b.  Human resource administrative tasks

c.  Assisting with event and fundraising planning

6.  Perform other administrative tasks and projects to support office services functions as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

•  High school degree or GED required; college degree preferred (Associates or Bachelor’s degree).

•  Fluently bilingual in English and Spanish required. Bicultural preferred.

•  Crisis intervention experience is a plus.

•  Knowledgeable about intimate partner and domestic violence is a plus.

•  Ability to assist clients regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, or disability.

•  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and clients.

•  Excellent interpersonal, customer service, verbal, written communication and multi-tasking skills.

•  Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills.

·  Working knowledge of computers - Word, Excel, Power Point, email, internet.

·  Ability to assist clients regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, or disability.

·  Must complete the 40-Hour Victims’ Advocacy Training (required by State of Oregon) within a reasonable amount of time following the hire date.

·  Support DVRC’s mission.

·  Ability to pass a criminal background check.
