1.0 PREAMBLE:

This specification is for the application of a Duracon roll coat finish system.

The system provides a durable surface internally bonded to the substrate during application.

2.0 SURFACE PREPARATION:

2.1 Previously Coated:

2.1.1 Shot blast or diamond grind to remove other systems & laitance.

2.1.2 Any construction joints or saw cuts must be brought through the system.

2.2  New concrete surfaces:

2.2.1 Shot blast or diamond grind to remove all laitance from surface.

3.0 SURFACE PRE-TREATMENT:

3.1  Patching of holes etc minor defects.

·  These shall be filled using Duracon screed mix, after it has been primed.

This shall be allowed to dry before proceeding with main floor.

3.2  Cracks in slab.

·  These are to be treated with a strip coat of Duracon 223 resin Equus joint tape 80mm bedded in.

4.0 SCREED APPLICATION:-

4.1 Primer:

Apply to clean and dry surface by roller, one (1) coat of Duracon 108 primer, to provide a spreading rate of .3Kgs/m2.

Allow to dry approx 30 to 45 min depending on conditions before proceeding.

4.2 Application of Duracon 205 roll coat

·  Mix Duracon 205 roll coat

·  5kgs 205 resin.

·  1kg quartz floor.

·  0.3kgs micronized pigment powder.

·  Plus catalayst to suit conditions 1.5% by weight for most conditions =75grams.

Apply the above mix at 0.3kgs per m2 approx (depends a lot on the surface)

If non skid finish required broadcast appropriate sand to give non skid required.

4.3 Application of sealer coats.

·  Apply by brush, roller, one (1) coat of Duracon 307 at .2 Kgs/m2 and allow to cure approx 45 minutes.

·  Apply by brush, roller, one (1) coat Duracon 307 at .2 Kgs/m2 and allow to cure.

·  You can tint the topcoats as well max 5% by weight.

5.0 MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTIES:

6.1 Maintenance:

The Duracon Roll Coat system can be cleaned by standard cleaning methods used.

We recommend a yearly inspection of the floor and any damaged areas be repaired then.

6.2 Warranty:

The Duracon Roll coat system for this application may be warranted for the period of up to 24 months; from the date application is completed.

Such warranty is issued by the Approved Equus Applicator carrying out the work, and is backed by the manufacturer as to the suitability for use of the materials supplied, provided that:

(a) All specified work is carried out by the approved Equus Contractor.

(b) All work is carried out in accordance with this specification or any written amendments thereto issued by the manufacturer.

(c) Special conditions may be applied where service conditions involve either severe mechanical abrasion / impact or chemical spillage or both.
