Dungannon Swifts Goldmark Volunteers
The history of Dungannon Swifts Football Club began in 1949 with the formation of the club. In the 1949-50 season, the Swifts managed a notable feat when they entered and won the Mid Ulster Shield on their first attempt. The following season, the Swifts made their entry into the Mid Ulster League and haven't looked back since.
1975 saw Stangmore Park become the official home of the Dungannon Swifts Football Club when they bought the land from Courtaulds Ltd and erected a temporary wooden Social Club. In August 1982, Dungannon Swifts officially unveiled their brand new club house. The purpose built construction replaced the old wooden club house and would provide an ideal environment for club and social affairs such as bingo, dances and dinners.
To the Current day Dungannon swifts play in the topflight of Irish league football, and have a great diverse and family atmosphere at the club where all are welcome.
Why?
Dungannon Swifts has always been connected with the local community and plans to develop and progress these links in the future. Sport in Northern Ireland only thrives due to the great contribution made by armies of Volunteers, and Dungannon Swifts wishes to give some new individuals the opportunity to be involved with the club, the club will also be able to learn from the volunteer and make sure that all volunteers are managed well, and individuals are supported and encouraged to utilise their strengths and where possible even learn new skills. The club has always been greatly supported by volunteers and wishes to make sure that all involved get as much back from the club as they give.
