Definition
In HTML format newsletters, the Skyscraper is a prominently visible vertical bar located at the upper right side of a newsletter page. CBS Interactive newsletters are delivered in either HTML or text-only formats, depending upon subscriber preference. Advertisers must provide creative for both newsletter formats if they wish to reach the complete subscriber list. The Skyscraper’s counterpart in text-only format newsletters is a paragraph of copy usually located roughly one-quarter of the way down from the top of the page.

Testing

All creatives must function uniformly on both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems as well as the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari for Mac OS X.

Third-Party Serving

CBS Interactive allows standard third-party tags for images and linking URLs. Please note that there have been issues with Doubleclick DART tags (with [timestamp]). Doubleclick click commands do work. If a client submits linking URL with a [timestamp], please request that the client submit a click command. IFrame tags are not accepted.

Deadlines

CBS Interactive requires that all creative be submitted two business days prior to start date.

If the submitted creative does not conform to the above listed specifications, it will not be placed online and may result in a delayed launch date.
