TSE 2016 Mob Match

Duathlon – Run 4km / Bike 18km / Run 2km

Redbridge Cycling Centre, Forest Road, Hainault, Ilford, IG6 3HP

9am to 11am Sunday 9th October 2016

On arrival please park at in the car park on the right hand side as you enter the centre; parking is free of charge. Race HQ will be in the main reception area or adjacent to the doors outside of the cycling centre. Registration will take place at 8:30am in the centre reception PLEASE BE EARLY! We will be issuinga race number so please bring your race belt. Please write your emergency contact & telephone number plus any medical conditions and/or allergies on the back of the number. The race will be run under British Triathlon Federation rules and will be a non-drafting race on the bike section, so please make sure you are familiar with these.

Transition Area

Once you have registered you can place your kit in transition. Make yourself familiar with the transition area; there is one way in and one way out only. It is likely that the transition area will be a grassed area and you will be asked to lay your bike on the ground.

Race Briefing

Will take place in transition at 8:50am prompt, there may be some important changes to these instructions.

Run – 4km (Two Full Laps)

The race will start on the track at the start / finish line which is adjacent to the commentary box position and will be a MASS START. Competitors will complete two full laps of the circuit running anti-clockwise and keeping to the right of the circuit at all times. For safety purposes no headphones to be used during the run.

After completing two laps competitors must finish the first run section by exiting the track into transition entrance as indicated in the race briefing.

Runners must pay careful attention to competitors on the cycle section who may be approaching from behind.

Your race number must be showing on the front at all times during the run section; SHOUT your number to the timekeeper as you pass through the transition entrance

Proceed to the transition area and put on your helmet before you touch your bike. Push your bike out of the transition exit to the bike mount line; SHOUT your number as you leave the transition area and switch your number to the back.

Bike – 18Km (Nine Full Laps)

The bike mount line will be at the side of the track outside transition, push your bike through the gate, both wheels over the line and then start riding.

Complete nine full laps of the circuit cycling anticlockwise and keeping to the left of the circuit at all times

Competitors must pay particular attention to other competitors cycling and running on the circuit at all times, do not undertake other cyclists (overtake on the inside/left) and no drafting!

Cyclists and runners will be sharing. Please be extremely careful of runners on the right of the track

Your race number must be showing on the back at all times during the cycle section; SHOUT your number to the time-keepers every time you complete a lap and as you pass through the gate into transition.

We will be endeavouring to count each competitors’ laps however please accept the responsibility for counting your own laps too. Some of participants have made use of placing 8 sticky tabs on their bike handlebars and removing a tab once they’ve completed each lap. Clearly, when there’s no tabs left turn into transition for the 2nd run.

After completing nine (9) laps competitors must finish the cycle section by dismounting at the dismount line and exiting the track into transition on the left side of the track using the transition entrance

Push your bike into the transition area and place it with your kit in transition, only then can you take off your helmet.

Run – 2Km (One Full Lap)

When you get to the transition area for the 2nd time, put on your running shoes and any other kit you might need and run out of the transition area and through the transition exit.

Competitors must make their way to the right of the track to complete one full lap of the circuit running anti-clockwise and keeping to the right of the circuit at all times. For safety purposes no headphones to be used during the run.

As competitors move to the right of the track to complete the second run section they must pay careful attention to other competitors on the cycle or run section who may be approaching from behind so please no cutting corners on any left hand bends.

Your race number must be showing on the front at all times during the run section; SHOUT your number to the timekeepers as you finish at the finish line on the circuit

Results

After you have finished please collect you kit from transition and use the Cycle Centre’s showers and changing facilities. The results will be available shortly after the final competitor has finished the race.
