Presenter: Mr. Richard Pennington
Procurement offices are often the unsung parts of government. They bridge organizational boundaries and tap into the circulatory systems of their organizations. There are lessons to be learned about effective teams, continuous improvement, project management, and learning. Teams can achieve excellent results without necessarily using formal models like Six Sigma, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, business process engineering, or others. These models come and go, but the essential individual and team skills needed to improve procurement operations endure. An overarching themeis embedded deeper in the stores of great procurement teams: how each of us can be lateral leaders in the profession.
