We are holding 80 rooms at the HopeHotel on WPAFB for the conference. To make reservations, please call 937-879-2696 and ask for a room under the DTRA block of rooms. You may also go the hotel web site (hopehotel.com), use the “reservations” tab, go to “group reservations,” on the next screen, put in “Group #201331.” When the DTRA screen comes up, choose the room and “select.” It will take you to the client screen for you to input your info. If you don’t want to do any of the above, send an email to (travel agent) and she will make your reservation for you (no charge).

The 7th Annual Underground FacilitiesR&D Technical Conference

The 7th Underground Facilities (UGF) R&D Technical Conference will be held at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, on 20-22 April 2010. This event is hosted by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

This annual forum provides a catalyst for collaboration of the R&D community and warfighters seeking to improve finding, characterizing, and assessing/defeating UGF critical functions. Visit the HTRAC website at for further information.

Program elements represented:

  • Technical keynote presentations
  • Strategic Warfighter needs based on associated issues:
  • Command and control operations
  • Production of weapons of mass destruction (WMD)
  • Methods and demonstrations for target detection, signature phenomenology, and supporting analysis to meet warfighter requirements

Technical areas to be addressed:

  • Find = Standoff Sensor Detection and Discrimination
  • Characterize = Structural, Functional, Geotechnical, Temporal, Identification/Verification
  • Assess/Defeat = Kinetic & Non-Kinetic Effects; Battle Damage Assessment

Presentations and active participation are sought from members of Agencies and Services which adhere to the following significant content requirements -

  • R&D projects must fall within technology readiness levels (TRL) 1 through 6
  • Authored achievements must demonstrate advancements beyond prior presentations.

Presentations are allotted 30 minutes (including questions) and may be classified up to the TS//SI//TK level. All attendeesmust have a TS//SCI clearance.

The Conference Program Committee is co-chaired by DARPA, DIA and DTRA. Send abstracts to the Conference Coordinator, Capt. Tony Perez, for consideration. Presenter candidates will be advised of abstract acceptance by 24 February 2010 and provided preparation instructions.
