7.0PROCEDURE: Replacement of LEVEL VIAL Assembly

7.1In the order shown in Photo-3, attach one end of the new LEVEL VIAL Assembly to the VIAL PLATE using a SWIVEL SCREW, CONICAL WASHER, and CRESENT WASHER (with cone facing vial holder).

7.1.1The PIVOT SCREW should be threaded into the VIAL PLATE about 10-turns.

This still leaves space to add the lubricant.

7.2Carefully apply a small amount of lubricant to the surfaces of the VIAL PLATE and VIAL HOLDER that will come into contact with the CRESENT WASHER and the CONICAL WASHER. Refer to Photo-3 for details.

7.3While holding the LEVEL VIAL Assembly parallel to the VIAL PLATE, tighten the SWIVEL SCREW to 5  1 in-lbs (0.56 N-m).

7.4Apply Loctite 380 (Black Max) to the end of the SWIVEL SCREW where it protrudes from the VIAL PLATE (see Photo-3).

CAUTION:The LEVEL VIAL Assembly must not be allowed to change position at all until the Loctite has cured. Any movement before the Loctite has cured will change the torque on the SWIVEL SCREW. Delay the installation of the HEX SCREW until the Loctite has cured.

7.5Insert a HEX SCREW through the hole in the VIAL PLATE; place a VIAL HOUSING LEVEL SPRING over the screw (as shown in Photo-4), and lower the LEVEL VIAL Assembly onto the HEX SCREW.

7.6Turn the HEX SCREW into the LEVEL VIAL Assembly until the assembly is approximately level with the VIAL PLATE.
