DRIVER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is pleased to announce the following driver training course at the RTAP Regional Training Center at the Town of Brookhaven, 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY:
Saturday, October 11, 2008, National Safety Council 6-Hour Defensive Driving Course
9:00 am - 3:30 pm
* PLEASE NOTE: There is an $11.00 fee for this course, due the day of the training. Please make check or money order payable to “National Safety Council”.
Advance registration is required to attend this course. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. This program is funded in part by NYSDOT’s Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP), and is intended for drivers from Section 5311 (small urban and rural) transit systems and from rural Section 5310 (human service agency) systems. Drivers from urban Section 5310 agencies are also welcome to attend on a space-available basis.
To register, complete the attached registration form (one form per applicant) indicating the applicant’s name and organization, and fax or mail NO LATER THAN SEVEN (7) DAYS PRIOR TO THE COURSE, as indicated.
NO-SHOWS AND CLASS CANCELLATION: If you register for a course and cannot attend, please call the training center to cancel at least 24 hours before the course. No-shows may affect their eligibility to attend future training sessions. Classes are subject to cancellation due to an insufficient number of registrants. In such cases, registrants will be notified of class cancellation.

DIRECTIONS TO TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN:
LIE East to exit #63-go to light and make left (North Ocean Ave) continue for about 1 mile (start going up a hill) stay in right lane until you see a sign Bicycle Path-exit off and follow to end of ramp-make right and Town of Brookhaven Town Hall will be on your left-follow up hill to parking area-when entering building check in with security and advise of DDC class.
