Dress with 7 Ruffles

Dress with 7 ruffles:

Yarn: Cherry, pink and white - 100% cotton 8/4

2 mm and 4 mm knitting needles

First ruffle:

Cast on 144 sts with cherry, 4 mm knitting needles, and work 14 rows stockinette stitch.

Now work:

Row 1: Knit 2 sts together, repeat across row = 72 sts

Row 2: Purl stitch

Rows 3, 5: Knit stitch

Rows 4, 6: Purl stitch

Break off yarn.

Press the ruffles before they are knit together.

Place the piece aside and work the second ruffle:

* Second ruffle:

Cast on 144 sts with pink, 4 mm knitting needles, and work 14 rows stockinette stitch.

Change to 2 mm knitting needles:

Row 4: Purl stitch

Continue with stockinette stitch until top part from last decrease measures 3 cm.

Now work:

Row 1: K 9, slip 1 st knit, K 7, K 2 tog, K 7, slip 1 st knit, K 9 = 35 sts

Row 2: P 9, slip 1 st purl, P 7, slip 1 st purl, P 7, slip 1 st purl, P 9 = 35 sts

Rows 3, 5: K 9, slip 1 st knit, K 7, turn, slip 1 st purl, P 6, turn, slip 1 st knit, K 6, slip 1 st knit, K 7,

turn, slip 1 st purl, P 6, turn, slip 1 st knit, K 6, slip 1 st knit, K 9

Rows 4, 6: P 9, slip 1 st purl, P 7, slip 1 st purl, P 7, slip 1 st purl, P 9 = 35 sts

Row 7: K 5, cast off 4 sts, K 8, slip 1 st knit, K 8, cast off 4 sts, K 5

Rpw 8: P 5, cast on 11 new sts, P 8, slip 1 st purl, P 8, cast on 11 new sts, P 5

Cast off.

Sew up the back seam.

I like to sew ruffles together with fine stitches from right side.
