I, ______, have read and understand the following:
- I understand that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity which could cause injury or death.
- I understand that by volunteering, I am providing a service to Starunner Enterprises and the DreamCatcher Half/Moonlight Miles 10K & Half Marathon and will do everything in my ability to ensure participants have a wonderful experience.
- I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation due to any reason that could potentially put me, other participants, volunteers or race officials in jeopardy.
- I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them and will follow the directions of the event staff in regards to the volunteer position I hold.
- I assume all risks associated with volunteering for this event including, but not limited to: falls; contact with other participants; the effects of weather including but not limited to high heat and humidity and cold; traffic and the conditions of the road, bike paths, trails or paths; wildlife that may be present (mountain lions, snakes, bugs, etc) and that all such risks are known and appreciated by me.
- I understand that dogs are not allowed during my volunteer time (service animals are excluded).
- I understand that this will be a busy time for all involved in the event and that I will leave minor children at home or have someone not associated with the event provide care for them if it is necessary for me to bring them.
- I understand that children between the ages of 12 and 17 can help at the event with permission from a parent or guardian.
Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release The DreamCatcher Half Marathon/Moonlight Miles 10k & Half Marathon, the city of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mesa County, Colorado, Starunner Enterprises, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant to Starunner Enterprises, its representatives and employees the right to take photographs of me and my property in connection with the DreamCatcher Half Marathon or Moonlight Miles 10K & Half Marathon. I authorize Starunner Enterprises, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that Starunner Enterprises may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.
