SUMMARY

Maintains warehouse operations by operating forklift to receive and distribute incoming and outgoing products while assisting production operations according to company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Duty/Responsibility
  1. Operates forklift (upon certification process) to distribute raw materials, packaging and finished products according to warehouse policies and procedures.

  1. Assists with outbound shipping preparation, organization and execution to include pull locations, pull tags, manifest the load, staging for shipment, repair and log damaged cases, and loading of trailers.

  1. Coordinates production support activities ensuring that raw materials and packaging items are distributed promptly and any outages reported to maintain efficient production operations.

  1. Maintains warehousing systems by recording locations of finished goods/productions and communicating any variances in counts or damaged items.

  1. Performs in-bound receiving activities to include verifying counts, checking for damage and signing bill of lading.

  1. Coordinates production support activities ensuring that any pallets from palletizing are put away in the freezer efficiently and promptly while diligently following the relocation policies when changing locations.

  1. Performs a variety of warehouse support operations to include but limited to: trailer inspections, pallet repair and sorting, and general cleanup activities.

  1. Performs daily forklift operations to include but not limited to: checklist, battery procedures, and will be battery change attendant (observing)

  1. Assists with month-end inventory activities by performing counts of raw materials, packaging and finished products.

  1. Conducts cycle counts and bin location audits daily.

  1. Ability to function and operate bar code software and scanner, with basic computer knowledge.

  1. Participates in company and departmental training with policy, procedures, and work methods.

  1. Exceptional customer service skills.

  1. Some weekend work required.

  1. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs assigned duties under general supervision and does not perform any supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) and minimum of 6 months of forklift experience with the ability to complete forklift certification training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of:

  • Basic mathematics to include adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing;
  • Basic computer software knowledge.
  • General safety rules and safe operating procedures;
  • Date code systems and product rotation;
  • Food storage guidelines.
  • Trailer loading procedures including load weight distribution and patterns.
SKILLS

Skill in:

  • Operating forklift and lift trucks to load and unload products;
  • Inventorying items and tracking product storage and distribution;
  • Verifying that product received corresponds with invoice;
  • Reading and interpreting written communication to include pallet tags, packing lists and invoices;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
  • Forklift Operator Certification.
