ChildPlus emergency information forms (ChildPlus report 1520 contact information) are available for each child and up to date on the bus in an easy to retrieve filing system.
There is an up to date bus schedule on the bus that lists pick up and drop off locations for each child.
The bus aide records the bus attendance pick up/drop off times at each stop.
The bus is equipped with a reverse beeper.
The busis equipped with a two-way communication system (cell phone).
The bus is equipped with safety equipment for use in an emergency, including a charged fire extinguisher that is properly mounted near the driver’s seat with a sign indicating its location.
The bus is equipped with a first aid kit and a sign indicating its location.
The bus is equipped with a seatbelt cutter for use in an emergency evacuation and a sign indicating its location.
The bus is equipped for use of height- and weight- appropriate child restraint systems. (Besi over the shoulder cam harnesses)

Routes are set up to eliminate the need for the bus to back up or make “U” turns, except when necessary for reasons of safety or because or physical barrios.
Stops are located to minimize traffic disruptions and to afford the driver a good field of view in front of and behind the bus.
When possible stops are located to eliminate the need for children to cross the street to board or leave the bus.
If children must cross the street because curbside pick-up or drop off is impossible they are escorted by an adult. Adult and child hold hands.
The Bus Driver remains in the driver’s seat when children are loading and unloading.
Bus Driver follows rules of the road obeying traffic laws. Employs good defensive driving skills.
Routines are timely, predicable and unrushed. Bus stays on a regular route.
Developmentally appropriate activities are planned for the bus ride including bus safety training.
Loading and unloading procedures are followed.
Children are never left unattended.
A check is completed at the end of the bus route to ensure all children are off the bus.
