DRAW Advisory Committee Meeting

Committee Members Present: Mark Oldmixon (ex of), Kaydee Miller (ex of), Michelle Klaben (Chair), Zack Wright (Vice Chair), Donnie Orzech, Serena McCormick, Grant Cummings, Adam McComb, Kesley Lindhal

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes from previous meeting re-read and approved.

Director’s Report:

SRC Projects Update:

·  3 separate projects will be going on over Christmas Break.

o  Cardio Floor, Wall Improvement, Actual Bouldering Wall

·  Projects should be complete sometime around start of semester

Terrain Park:

·  Waiting for snow and risk management to access the park.

Ice Wall:

·  Wall spraying operations have begun.

·  DRAW travelling to Iowa State to talk to them about the design and operations of ice wall.

Skating Pond:

·  Flooding has begun.

Advertising in SRC and Information about Draw Advisory Committee (DAC):

·  Bulletin has been posted in SRC explaining both.

Pool:

·  Plan is to start doing cash transactions and sign-ins at lifeguard booth. DRAW has had a problem with people poaching the use of the facility.

·  Spot checks will also be done at the SRC of membership and/or payment.

Badminton Tournament:

·  Tournament will be hosted at the SRC on November 15th.

Public Comment – None

New Business

●  Music in the SRC

○  Ideas for music in the SRC were discussed.

○  Discussed future ideas for PA style system

■  Estimate will be researched for PA/speaker system

●  Olympic Platforms

○  Motion presented to advise DRAW staff to purchase two Olympic platforms and associated weights for the SRC weight room. One will be placed on the SRC floor immediately and the other will be place based on demand. A survey will be used to decide what old equipment will be removed or moved to make room for the platforms.

○  Presented by Michelle Klaben and seconded by Donnie Orzech

○  Approved by unanimous vote.

●  Munch Money

○  Ideas for increasing inventory at SRC discussed.

○  Accepting Munch Money at the SRC could cause conflict and may require a NANA facility to be at the SRC.

○  More information will be gathered and discussed at a later time.

●  Website/Advertising for DAC

●  Professional development money for students

●  Winter Carnival Planning
