Recycling and Composting Workshops

Education

Town Officer’s Education Conference - Since our movie account has been used for education purposes, it was voted unanimously to use this fund to cover the cost of 4 BCC members to attend – Barbara, Monique, Andrea & Nancy. Monique will register us and submit receipt for reimbursement. We each need to notify Monique of our workshop preferences asap.

Land Conservation - Update on Lyons Project

VT Law School does not have any interns to help with deed research. Monique’s lawyer friend, Rebecca has offered to do it for us, but because she is not licensed in VT, she cannot advise us.

Stewardship

Update on Grant Application to VCF Edits suggested by Riley, Barbara and Andrea have been made; Tom has more edits to suggest. Once final changes have been made, Nancy will submit the application.

Update on progress with Wilderness Trail – Riley, Tom, Andrea, Gary and John Taylor will hike the pro-

posed trail on Friday and adjust flagging as needed.

Update on Owl Walk - Tabled

Update on Trail Signs – Gary has agreed to make 3 new trail markers (2 Wilderness Trail; 1 WM Trail)

Update on Race publicity – Monique will update the website with the 2016 Date of June 5th, and will contact Emily about her band playing for the event, and will seek a commitment.

Conservation Fund

Marchi Gras Tables and Auction Items were discussed; space can accommodate only 8 tables.

Instead of the usual gift certificate from Perry’s for the Auction, we received a $200 check from Osterman. Check will be deposited into Cons. Fund Acct at WRSB, and then a check for $200 payable to Perry’s will go to the highest bidder. Voted unanimously to make the following payment:

Other

·  Need to check with Emily to see if she still plans to do her “Tick Talk” at the Library this summer

·  Nancy may try to complete a grant application for a Plug In Power Station for the parking lot behind Denny Park. The cost is about $10,000 with a 25% match. It was voted to allocate up to $1,000 from the LEAF Account toward the match. Will also seek support from Green MT Power.
