Hospice is a special healthcare option for patients and families who are faced with a terminal illness.South Coast Hospice provides palliative (comfort) care when curative treatment is not longer the patient’s choice.Care takes place in the patient’s home or a home-like setting such as a nursing home and serves patients of all ages.South Coast Hospice views the patient, family and disease process from a holistic perspective addressing the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient and family. Our belief is that quality of life is as important as length of life.

At South Coast Hospice, we offer:

·  Extension of the patient’s primary care physician to maintain patient comfort.

·  Interdisciplinary Team of Hospice certified and trained Nurses, Home Health Aides, Counselors, Social Workers, Chaplain, and Volunteers.

·  Comfort Based Care-Professionally trained pain specialists utilizing technologically advanced pain management.

·  Respite Care-Time out for family and care givers to address their own needs.

·  Personal Assistance-Aides to help with patient's personal care; bathing, hair and nail care, light housekeeping and laundering.

·  Twenty-four/seven, On-call Nursing Support-Patient and family can avoid emergency room visits and be assured Hospice will respond when an emergency arises.
