NCPDP Announces Call For Nominations for

2010 Industry Leadership Awards

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - December 2, 2009 - The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), a not-for-profit pharmacy standards development organization, announced today the call for nominations for its 2010 leadership awards. The awards recognize exemplary leadership among NCPDP members in the council’s drive to enhance the quality and efficiency of the healthcare system through the creation of information technology (IT) solutions. Nominations for the following awards are now open and will be accepted through February 8, 2010:

·  Benjamin D. Ward Distinguished Member Award – acknowledges the outstanding achievement, consistent dedication and leadership in NCPDP and the healthcare industry. The namesake of the award is one of the pioneering founders of NCPDP, and is known as the innovator behind the creation of the pharmacy benefits management (PBM) segment of the healthcare industry.

·  Rising Star Award – recognizes the immediate impact of the contributions of a new member who has joined the organization within the past two years.

·  The Individual Member Excellence (TIME) Award – honors a member for unselfish devotion toward meeting the goals and objectives of NCPDP.

Lee Ann Stember, President of NCPDP, explained, “These awards honor the ‘best of the best’ in helping us achieve the short- and long-term goals of our organization, and continuing NCPDP’s leadership in shaping the transformation of our industry.”

The Benjamin D. Ward Distinguished Member and Rising Star Award recipients are elected by the NCPDP membership. The Board of Trustees elects the recipient of the TIME Award.
