At the outset, President ,IIM welcomed all members present in the meeting.

With consent of all members present in the Extraordinary General Meeting, the notice convening the EGM was already circulated to all members.

The President Chair, Dr. Biswajit Basu then briefly explained to the members the reasons for holding the EGM.The Chairman then took up the business as per Notice of the EGM and asked the members to propose the item in the agenda

Ordinary business

“Resolved that the following revisions in the following categories of membership fees, asapproved by the Registrar of Companies, Dept. Of Corporate Affairs, vide SRN G62970710, dated 20.11.2017, shall be effective from April 2018, in agreement with the Council of the Institute.”

A)Student Members / 200 INR / 500 INR
PEOFESSIONAL (New category) replacing existing category of Affiliate Membership
Definition : Shall be such other persons as are directly engaged in the promotion of science and art of making ,shaping and treating of metals and alloys for a period of not less than 10 years who in the opinion of the Council are qualified for membership
And
Any person who is not eligible for Membership of the Institute in any other way, but whose association with the Institute will in the view of the Committee be useful to the Institute may be elected as a Professional Member. / 12,000 INRonetime or in six equal instalments of Rs.2000/- every consecutive year , shall be entitled to become a Professional Member of the Institute.
After 6 years he shall become a Life Member in Professional Category.
