1 / Matters Arising:
Walk-In-Service AM – Doctors Working Days to be displayed in Waiting Room.
No other issues raised – Minutes Accepted as a true record. / LL
2 / Practice Update: Practice Manager
Staff –Details provided of current staffing levels: Dr Ravula/Dr Kattoju (Phased Return).
Dr Thompson (Locum GP) to stay on Long-term Contract. Nursing Assistant on Sick Leave, due back end of October. Practice Nurse Appointments squeezed incorporating cover and ‘Flu Clinics’.
28-Day Prescribing – Information provided on related prescribing issues. All Scripts to be 28-day – no exceptions. Other ways of requesting available but push needed to encourage On-Line Prescription Requests. Electronic Prescribing to commence shortly with Pilot Scheme.
Phlebotomy Service –Community Service has ceased and will be replaced by Nursing Assistant who will have dedicated morning Phlebotomy Clinics with PM appointments for miscellaneous requests/reviews etc. Complex cases and Children will be screening at Rotherham General Hospital (Phlebotomy Department).
3 / Flu:
Flu Programme now commenced with the inclusion of Pharmacies, now providing this service. Patients are encouraged to continue with our dedicated clinics here at the Surgery. Reiterated Importance of knowing the patient and their unique/complex problems makes our Service the safest choice. Practice Nurse will run dedicated clinics and reiterated flexibility is always assured. Elderly and Housebound patients will be visited at their place of Residence for their vaccinations if necessary, including help from CCC/DN Team.
4 / Closure of Central Rotherham Surgery – Chantry Bridge
Potentially, this may increase our patient number by (60), if any of these patients take up the offer of joining us. Update will be provided at next meeting. / LL
5 / Friends and Family/Patient Survey:
Information collated from recent Survey, has been forwarded to CCG for perusal and scrutiny.
A new ‘Patient Survey’ will be implemented shortly. Update to follow at next meeting. / LL
6 / Any Other Business:
Role of the PPG: ( Open Discussion)
The meeting was reminded of the purpose of the PPG – it was thought that a push was needed in order for the Group to take over/run and organise these meetings.
Facilities are on offer, Monday Evenings for (1 hour) would be available, if necessary Physio Room (6.00pm – 7.00pm) including the use of a computer, photocopier, paper and fax, also available. Templates and guidance can also be provided if the Group deems it necessary.
JG volunteered to be Chairperson, as he has a background in understanding meetings i.e. roles and responsibilities, this was broadly accepted by the Group. PPG to plan the way forward for next meeting. Next meeting will include Helen Wyatt from Healthwatch (PPG) who will no doubt offer her support. / PPG
