Dr. Patricia Sisca Pace and the Dragon Slayer Program

Dr. Patricia Sisca Pace has been a teacher and youth mentor for over 30 years. She received a doctorate in psychology from the University of Southern California, and she has taught mathematics, English, psychology, religion, and test-prep at various parishes, high schools, and universities. Dr. Pace is also a retreat and spiritual director, certified at the JesuitCenter in Wernersville, PA. She offers a wide variety of academic and spiritual seminars, workshops, and retreats. She applies her considerable teaching talents and fields of expertise to test-prep and is considered the foremost combined ‘Test-Prep Instructor/Retreat Director’ in the Philadelphia area. Thus, she provides a totally unique, holistic approach to learning and test-taking.

Academic programs attend to only one part of the total person –the mind. In the course of running successful academic test-prep seminars for three decades, Dr. Pace has come to recognize that academic preparation, while providing a very necessary service to test-takers, is not enough. Test-taking also requires the right use of body, spirit, and emotions. In Slaying the Dragons of Standardized Tests, Dr. Pace includes physical, spiritual, and psychological practices that are invaluable to students dealing with such difficulties as test anxiety, distractions, lack of motivation and loss of confidence –states that have been shown to thwart personal best performance. The foundation of this work emerged from her training in spiritual/retreat direction, from her doctoral studies, and from her 30 years experience as an educator.

Family Testimonies for Dr. Pace’s Dragon Slayer Program

Dr. Pace charters new territory in test preparation. Helping your child identify some of the "emotional dragons" preventing personal best achievement is invaluable. This holistic approach has application in all aspects of life and it was particularly helpful to share the experience with my son. Thank you Dr. Pace.

Mrs. Sheila Amrhein + Michael, St. Martin of ToursSchool

Through the program, Slaying the Dragons of Standardized Tests, my son and I learned he can control both internal and external sources that affect his personal best performance on tests. I highly recommend this course for parent and child.

Mrs. Annette Hanagan + Daniel, St.CeciliaSchool

As parents we don’t get to go to school with our children, so this was a welcomed opportunity to be able to sit side-by-side with Olivia in Dr. Pace’s Slaying the Dragons class. I learned a lot from Dr. Pace’s class that can be applied not only to my child’s life but also to my own. We all have dragons, and Dr. Pace’s class helped me to understand how to slay them more effectively.

Mrs. Jennifer Binczewski + Olivia, PopeJohnPaulIISchool

I found the seminar extremely interesting, and I feel it will be helpful to my daughter. It is appropriate for students of all academic levels. Everyone can gain something from Slaying the Dragons of Standardized Tests.

Mrs. Kathy McGarrity + Megan, St. Hilary of PoitiersSchool

As a parent, I thought all material covered in the class was helpful. My son liked the sections on food, controlling external dragons, and the math. We both enjoyed the class and feel it was worth it.

Mrs. MaryAnne Potok + Drew, St. Albert the GreatSchool

Slaying the Dragons of Standardized Tests has certainly calmed my daughter’s fears of taking important tests. Knowing that God also wants you to do well, along with the physical and emotional aspects of the program, allows your child to go in with full confidence and do his/her personal best.

Mrs. Dolores Rossi + Krista, St. Hilary of PoitiersSchool

Both our daughters have taken Dr. Pace’s class. We believe it is the best gift we can give them as they enter this phase of their lives. The program is educationally helpful and spiritually insightful.

Mrs. Bonnie Tiffany + Erin, GwyneddMercyAcademy

This program offers a collaborative experience for both parent and child. As such, children can see that their parents are “invested” in the test preparation process.

Mr. Joe Larkin + Katie, St. Hilary of PoitiersSchool

This program helps us handle many of the emotions that arise during testing by giving helpful strategies to stay “cool under pressure.” It puts the physical, emotional and spiritual sides of us into perspective and shows how to prevent unhelpful behaviors from sabotaging performance.

Mrs. Jessica Stickley + Howard, Presentation BVM

The holistic approach in teaching test taking techniques is very unique--something our children don't normally find in the classroom. Learning how to use our thoughts, emotions, and prayers to positively enhance the test taking experience is invaluable. Highly recommended!

Mrs. Wendy Parsons + Abby, Abington Junior High

Overall, I feel that if there is any way I can help my daughter succeed, I am willing to learn it. This program enlightened me and my daughter about the emotional and physical aspects of test-taking. As a result, we were able to get on the same page and this lessened our anxiety over the whole process of test-taking. I would recommend this program to others because it gave me the opportunity to de-stress and also be a part of my daughter’s academic life.
