25 / Humans in experimentation
Prepare a 200-300 word essay that summarizes three historical examples that you consider prominent examples of the violation of human rights through experimentation. Provide examples of mandates from the Declaration of Helsinki that were contraindicated by the actions of the researchers.
Conclude by answering the question: Should research from these investigations be published?
25 / Animals in experimentation Prepare a 200-300 word position statement defending or supporting one of the following:
·  the use of animals in pain research
·  the development of genetically modified animals
·  the development of genetically modified plants

1.  How much total funding was awarded to NM in 2010? to NMSU?.
2.  What percent did NM receive as compared with the total amount of NIH dollars to all states? How does this percentage compare to the total percent of US citizens who live in NM versus the entire US population?
3.  Which three states received the most funding? Which three states received the least funding?
4.  Do you believe that NIH funding affects the student experience at a university? Why or why not
5.  Provide a position statement of up to 100 words that supports or refute the statement: Federal research dollars should go to fund the best peer-reviewed science and equitable distribution of grants among states should not be taken into consideration.
