Academic Interests

I have several areas of professional interest that have tended to change over my career. For the last 15 years, I have been interested in the development of questionnaires and computer programs that address the general wellness of an individual. The questionnaire yields data that become the basis for a personalized report being made available to the respondent. Formula for predicting successful completion of special warfare training personnel have also been developed for the U.S. Navy. More recently, I have been involved in developing on-line academic courses.

Biographical information:

I have recently celebrated my 43rd wedding anniversary (all with the same person!). During this time, we have enjoyed 2 daughters who now have their own careers and relationships which has resulted in 4 granddaughters (Erica, Kathryn, Kendall, and Jenna) and 1 grandson (Jackson). Hobbies have come and gone during this period. For 20 years, I enjoyed refereeing basketball games particularly college games. At this point in life, I try to walk and play golf as often as possible for regular exercise.

Crafts have always been of interest to me as well. My wife and I have remodeled several homes, doing most of the work ourselves. I am currently trying to learn skills with woodworking.

In November, 1992, I converted a hobby (buying and selling stocks and options) into an independent business by securing my broker's license. In addition to personal investments, I have helped others with financial planning and investing to reach specific goals.
