DPS MathEndorsement Academy

A TIF Grant-Funded Program

What is the Endorsement Academy?

As a part of our continuing commitment to empowering excellent educators, Denver Public Schools offers our effective teachers an opportunity to obtain additional certifications and endorsements through a program in its third year -- the Endorsement Academy. The Endorsement Academy is designed to prepare talented teachers to expand their knowledge and skills and earn additional endorsements in high-needs content areas, such as ELA-S and secondary math. The Endorsement Academy will ultimately help us close achievement gaps for our underserved students by providing equitable access to high-quality education, particularly in high-need subject areas.

In partnership with the Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver), the Math Endorsement Academy provides participants with the content and pedagogical training necessary to take either the Math PLACE or Praxis II exam in January 2016 and ultimately become an effective secondary math teacher.

What do current participants say about the program?
