Allison McQuilliam Memorial Scholarship

Background

This scholarship was established by the family of Allison McQuilliam to perpetuate her memory and provide financial assistance to nontraditional students enrolled in any curriculum at KansasStateUniversity.

Scholarship Criteria

The Allison McQuilliam Memorial Scholarship committee will award one (1) $1000 scholarship a year. The following criteria are used to select scholarship recipients:

  • Be a new or continuing nontraditional student who is properly enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) in any degree program at KansasStateUniversity. A nontraditional student is a student who meets one or more of the following criteria: 25 years of age or older, married, a parent (single or married), or returning to school after an absence (three or more years.)
  • Have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have a child (preferably under five (5) years of age).
  • Preference will be given to a married student who has a financial need.

In all other respects, these funds shall be awarded without restriction to race, gender, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, or disability.

The recipient will send a letter of appreciation upon notification of award.

Application Process

  • Complete the application form and submit it by the published deadline.
  • Submit with your application forma one-page, typed summary describing how you meet the above criteria. Also include:

□Your career goals, and your plans to achieve them,

□Your activities and experiences during your non-college years,

□How you have been able to succeed in your academic endeavors, and

□Why you need financial assistance to continue your academic career. Include unique circumstances and obstacles you may be facing.

  • Include your name and student identification number on all attachments
