DOORS
Revelation 3:20
There are many doors mentioned in the Bible. Some we should and some we should close. I would like to share a few of these doors with you.
I. A DOOR BEYOND, 1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
2 Corinthians 2:12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
(What is meant by the opening of the door?)
A. The receptivity of the multitudes, Acts 14:27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
B. The repression of the magistrates, Acts 4: 16-21; 5:34-
40; 4:14
C. The power of the messenger, Col. 4:3; II Cor. 4:3; Rom.
10:15
II. A DOOR WITHIN, Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
A. The door of the heart - The knob unlocks from the inside - you must hear the knock and respond; He will not rudely enter, Matt. 11:28-30
1. He must be greeted
2. He must be granted entrance
3. He must be received gladly or welcomed inside
B. The door of the home
1. To build the loving cord
2. To bind the lasting chain
3. To bless the loving Christ
C. The door of the church
III. A DOOR ABOVE, Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. (Cf. Isa. 26:20)
A. At a fixed time in prophetic events, I Tim. 6: 16
B. For a final trophy of priceless glory, Eph. 2:7
C. To a fixed temple of princely grandeur, Phil. 3:21
IV. A DOOR BETWEEN, Luke 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
A. Between you and the Godly saints
B. Between you and the glorious Sunshine, II Thess. 1:8-9
C. Between you and the goal of survival, John 3:36
D. Between you and the gentle Saviour, John 3:16
