“DOING NOTHING”

The story is told of a man who had no belief in God and died. When his will was read it said that he had left everything to the devil. This gave the court a cause for some head scratching, but after several months of deliberation the court handed down the following decision; “It has been decided that the best way to carry out the wish of the deceased is to allow the farm to grow weeds, the soil to erode, and the house and barn to rot. In our opinion, the best way to leave something to the devil is to do nothing.” Therein lies the whole truth. Few people would admit to such infidelity, but many will procrastinate and postpone the great decisions of life and end up having willed their soul to the devil. Jesus wanted everyone to understand that if they did not listen and follow Him then they were making the decision to follow the devil. “Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:42-44). Let us never stand still when it comes to our Christianity. Ernie
