FISHING RULES @ MOUNTAIN MEADOWS~ 2017

The "Rule" has been made for all, and applies to day or overnight camping. ALL FISHING MUST BE ADULT SUPERVISED!!!:

  1. BRING YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT! “Be Prepared”!
  2. "Catch & Release" as many as you can catch! BARBLESS HOOKS PLEASE!
  3. If hook is swallowed and unable to remove; The fish must be preparedand eaten on site! The rule is: "If you do not like to actually prepare and eat fish, then either find another boy/girl/adult who will do it for you, or do not fish. Each fish costs me around two buck$ a piece, and we want to make them last the season for all the other Scouts who come down. Several hundred Scouts will be fishing this Spring & Summer & working on Fishing Merit Badges. Note: Osprey, Eagles & Herron like to fish too!
  4. If fishing for your meal; Release the small ones and eat a big one (unless the small one swallowed the hook, then eat the little one). Only 1 fish to be eaten per person(per meal time) please!
  5. Do not throw dead fish or fish guts, etc. back into the pond! Ziploc it into your garbage bag, and take it home for disposal.
  6. Clean up any mess and/or equipment before you leave.

Please remember to keep a bucket or 2 of water at the shoreline, with either “needle nose pliers or fish hook extractors with you prior to catching any fish. Remind Scouts to get that fish into the bucket and keep it (+ hands) wet while removing hooks! Do not handle fish with dry hands! Fish for eating (one fish caught per person) can be strung on a hook line in the water or kept in the pails til ready to fix them, or prepare them and put them on ice. No fish is to leave the property without the approval of RangerRik. No one is allowed to catch and eat more than one fish per meal! Catch and release all you want! Do not take your fish home to “Mom”!

OUTBACK BEAVER DAM: Same rules apply if you fish out there, with Adult Supervision! No Scouts are allowed in Outback Pond without adult supervision! Remember all Scouts/Children MUST wear a PFD on or around Shorelines!

The idea is to have a ton of fun and let those that follow enjoy what you had!

Yours in Scouting and good fishing!
