GEOPAK file(s) are named for content recognition through filename. The file names consist of eight, or less, alpha-numeric characters with the appropriate extension.

Common file extensions:

1.2Geopak Database File Names

Using the eight-character, or less, alpha-numeric designation, the project file(s) utilize the following naming convention:

JOB {Project Designator}File Extension} where;

JOB35.gpk

would be recognized as:

35……..Project Designator

.gpk……..File Extension

1.3Horizontal Alignment Naming Conventions

Each alignment in GEOPAK has a different letter designator to aid in content recognition. GEOPAK provides one to nine alphanumeric characters for naming alignments. All horizontal alignments, including main lanes, ramp, frontage roads and cross streets follow the following format

CD*………..Collector Distributor

CONN*…….Direct Connector

FRTG*………..Frontage Roads

RMP*………….Ramps

ISCT*………..Intersecting Cross Streets

1.4Vertical Alignment Naming Conventions

Each Profile in GEOPAK will continue the same naming convention as all the Geopak horizontal alignments

Note: Any alignment carried over from IH 30 Pegasus Phase I will utilize their naming convention and is described in Table 1 below:

1.5Geopak Horizontal Alignment Stationing

Baseline/Centerline stationing was provided by TxDOT. Stationing was only applied to the baseline.

Alignments designed parallel to the baseline are stationed with a format similar to the baseline/centerline. The new alignment stations are closely correlated with the baseline stations.

1.6.TIN Digital Terrain Model File Names

The proposed digital terrain model file(s) utilize the following naming convention:
