(to accompany the written submission)

The table below shows the paperwork that is either essential, or might be useful to, the Review Committee. Reviews are not intended to be paper-intensive so non-essential information need only be provided if it would further the Committee’s understanding of issues raised by the submission. Further supporting documentation may be provided to avoid repeating in the submission information that is available in another source.

Documentation can be provided either as appendices to the submission or as a web reference.

Educational and Student Policywill provide / Institution will need to provide
Essential

  • External Examiners’ reports and the institution’s responses to them for the previous three years.
  • Programme Specifications for all courses offered by the institution which lead to a University award.
  • The institution’s Annual Quality Updates for the last three years.
  • Where available, the institution’s National Student Survey returns for the previous three years.
  • Link to PhD or taught Masters student satisfaction data.
  • The report of the last General Board Review.
  • The most recent accreditation report (where applicable).

  • [If available] the institution’s five-year strategic plan (or School or Faculty plan), or an indication of any significant longer-term plans or aspirations.
  • A summary report on, or examples of, the institution’s student feedback for the last three years.
  • Course handbooks (if provision is extensive, a sample may be sufficient).
  • Marking and classing criteria for all programmes.
  • Local guidance to examiners.
  • Updated staff list with roles.
  • Relevant Minutes (eg Faculty Board/Teaching Committees etc) for the past three years.

Routinely provided for information

  • Extracts which refer to the institution from the minutes of the General Board’s Education Committee and theSenior Tutors’ Standing Committee on Education.
  • Comments from the Careers Service about the institution. Report of any recent library visits.[1]
  • T & L section of the annual report of the University Library
  • Student statistics and data (including FTE student load, admissions, examinations and employment data).
  • Staff list and staff data.

Available on request

  • Lecture Listingor timetable links for the institution.
  • Relevant regulations from Statutes and Ordinances.

[1]The relevant Council of the School and Faculty Board are routinely asked if they would like to make any comments to the Review Committee. If any are received they will be passed to the Secretary of the Review Committee.
