I’m proud to announce a brand new tool for the Scouting program. The Boy Scouts of America Discover®Prepaid Card is the first of many tools being offered to all Scouts 13 years or older and is designed to help Scouts become more educated when it comes to managing their money. This new tool will undoubtedly make a positive impact in the lives of Scouts and families in our troop.
What I love is that this is NOT a credit card, but a prepaid, reloadable card that parents can replenish from their own bank accounts. It’s a great way to manage their Scout’s daily spending, and it’s safer and more convenient than carrying cash. Scouts may use the card everywhere Discover is accepted and it’s also a helpful tool Scouts can use to budget for upcoming trips or campouts, or for spending from week to week. I’m personally encouraging our troop to actively promote thistool, since it really will help Scouts learn more about money management, and there are tools and activities included that will help them fulfill merit badge requirements.
Please help me spread the word by making sure the attached flier is handed out at your next troop meeting, and make sure the attached email is sent to all of your friends and family informing them about this exciting new opportunity.
