Director, Curriculum and Assessment
Position Summary
The Director of Curriculum and Assessment (C&A) will be responsible for overseeing all the work of the department, which is primarily responsible for item and test development. The director’s tasks include developing proposals and test designs, creating budgets, mentoring and evaluating management staff, and identifying resources to fulfill contract requirements. This position also serves as a member of the management team for the company. Additional responsibilities include the following:
Ensure quality control of design, development, construction, production, and workflow.
Select, hire, train, supervise, and mentor senior level staff within the department; mentor managers and others on specifics of test design, budgeting, and planning.
Develop and administer annual department budget and complete work within contract guidelines on schedule and within budget.
Work with others within organization on test design, definitions and modifications.
Secure internal and external resources to accomplish department objectives.
Manage the professional development needs of the department in collaboration with Assistant Director.
Serve as C&A representative in proposal writing and contract-related activities.
Work with the Client Division on interface with clients as required, especially at the planning level.
Work with the Publishing group to ensure that all agreed upon handoff dates are met.
Work with the Scoring Director to utilize scoring leadership resources to help with item development.
Establish and maintain internal and external relationships conducive to achieving company objectives.
Work with the Assistant Director to ensure the timely development of high-quality items for use in both the state and local markets.
Serve as company representative for Curriculum and Assessment and contribute as a member of company management team.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in education, assessment, or a related field
Nine years of combined, progressively responsible professional experience in the assessment industry and/or in K-12 education settings is required, which includes proven experience in item development, budgeting, and test design.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree in English Language Arts or Elementary Education or School Administration;

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyzes data to make decisions regarding the implementation of the coherent curriculum;
• Develops curriculum documents to support implementation of coherent curriculum in English Language Arts, K-12;
• Identifies/develops/provides professional development training on the implementation of the curriculum;
• Identifies instructional materials necessary to support implementation;
• Develops assessments to support implementation; support implementation of the District benchmarking system;
• Collaborates with experts in other fields to provide integrated curriculum and to identify accommodations/modifications to support diverse learners;
• Collaborates with school administrators and teachers to identify needs and to seek feedback to improve the curriculum;
• Observes classroom instruction for the purpose of gathering data to improve the curriculum;
• Serves as a liaison to state and national agencies and professional organizations in English Language Arts;
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge base on curriculum and instruction in the content area; and
• Collaborates to design and implement formative and summative evaluation of the curriculum.
SalaryRange: $68,891 - $75,263

Curriculum and Assessment Specialist (Mathematics)
Position Summary
This position entails Mathematics test development responsibilities for customized large-scale educational assessment programs. This includes writing, reviewing, and revising multiple-choice, short-answer, and constructed-response items with rubrics (and accompanying materials) according to assigned state curriculum frameworks and Measured Progress’s standards and deadlines. The position can be based in Dover, State or at our new facility in Longmont, State. Additional responsibilities include the following:
Prepare educational assessment items according to published standards, specifications, and deadlines.
Plan, direct, and facilitate off-site content advisory committee meetings and review test items and scoring guides for content and technical quality.
Work with scoring leadership personnel to resolve issues around the application of rubrics.
Utilize teaching experience and curriculum expertise, including thorough knowledge of national and/or state curriculum standards.
Apply content knowledge in creating large scale customized assessments.
Employ excellent written and verbal communication skills in planning and running professional meetings and workshops.
Travel to committee meetings and state departments of education.

Qualifications

TITLE 1 MIDDLE SCHOOL/HIGH SCHOOL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MATH COORDINATOR-
Master’s degree in Math preferred. Candidates must hold or be eligible to hold teaching licensure in the appropriate content area. 3 or more years of teaching experience (MS/HS) required. Experience as a mentor, lead teacher, or professional developer desired. The coordinator will work with middle school/high school professional learning teams to increase teachers’ knowledge of effective math skill development strategies. DIRECTOR - CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION (SECONDARY) ($67,938-$115,564)
The City Public School System is seeking a Director of Curriculum & Instruction (Secondary) who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the development, revision and implementation of curricula, instructional practices, and assessments in the secondary schools. Ensures the provision of appropriate resources and services for educational programs; develops educational specifications and coordinates space planning. Manages grants in assigned area of responsibility. Ensures that theories and techniques related to best practices in instruction, approach, and materials have been identified and disseminated to assigned staff.
Qualified candidates will have the following minimum qualifications:
-Master's degree in education or related field with an emphasis in secondary education, educational administration and supervision., or curriculum development
-A valid State Department of Education Advanced Professional Certificate with endorsements in Administrator I or Principal/Supervisor and a teaching endorsement (or out of state approved equivalent teaching/professional certification)
-Seven years supervisory/leadership experience in a public education or university setting including financial management experience
-Recent experience in local or state curriculum related initiatives and direct experience conducting standards-based professional development in specific curricula
-Knowledge of current theories of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
-Knowledge of educational testing instruments, methods, and procedures
-Ability to interface with administrators; ability to find creative solutions to challenging problems
