Docksiders Level 9 Team Wins the

Maryland State Championships

The Maryland State Level 8, 9, 10 State Championships was held on March 18 & 19, 2017 at the Wellness and Athletic Center at Catonsville College Baltimore County. Docksiders Level 9 Team stole the show winning the Team Competition by a huge margin.

The Level 9 team was led by 3 standout performers who each won the All-Around in their age divisions. Julia Heiner won the Junior B age group with a high score of 37.475. She also won two individual events Uneven Bars with a 9.45 and Balance Beam with a 9.40. She placed 3rd on Floor Exercise with a 9.35. In the Junior A age group, Holly Snyder captured her first State All-Around Title with a 37.25. She won Vault with a 9.475 and places 3rd on Balance Beam with a 9.30. In the Sr. A age group teammate Susan Maranto won the All-Around with a 37.025. She earned Vault Champion status with her score of 9.55 and placed 2nd on both Uneven Bars with a 9.15 and Balance Beam with a 9.25. Also at Level 9, Kate Wolbart placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.525 in the Sr. A age group. Sarah Zois placed 2nd in the Junior B age group on Vault with a 9.50. Contributing to the Level 9 Team victory were Docksiders team members Emily Burke, Sara Dugan, Shianne Marbley and Jordan Wagner.

At Level 10 in the Sr. A age group, Rebekah Jenkins won Vault with a huge score of 9.725. In the same age group Ronni Binstock won Uneven Bars with a career high of 9.60 and Hannah Munnelly placed 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.50. In the Junior A age group, Anaya Smith took 3rd place on both Vault with a 9.45 and Uneven Bars with a 9.10. The Level 10 Team placed 3rd in the Team competition with the help of teammates Elizabeth Baraducci, Maria Ramsey, and Logan Smith. All of the Level 9 and 10 gymnasts qualified for Region 7 Championships which will be held at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland in April.

At Level 8, Abigail Pimpo was crowned the Balance Beam Queen for her 9.225 score in the Senior age group. Also in the Senior age group, Adelina Rodriguez placed 3rd on Floor Exercise with a 9.15 and 3rd All-Around with a 35.80. In the Junior age group, Rhisen Davis placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.20. Abigail, Adelina and Rhisen all qualified for Level 8 Regionals along with Level 8 team members Tristen Bullock, Kaylin Jackson, Arianna Pankey, Laney Potter, and Hannah Schouviller. Level 8 Regionals will be held in Cranberry, Pennsylvania the first weekend in April.
