WORSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
May 17 ~9:30 AM: Pastor Chris will give a message on Luke 14:1~24, “A Meal with Jesus: Meal as Mission.” The town hall meeting will be immediately following worship.
6 PM: Joint worship with our sister churches here at Cedar Hill.
May 24 ~9:30 AM: Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost Sunday serves as an important reminder of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives and in the lives of others all around the world. It is the Holy Spirit that unites and empowers us to stand with one another. Pastor Chris will give a message on Luke 22:7~20, “A Meal with Jesus: Meal as Salvation.” Be in prayer this week as we anticipate joining together to celebrate the Lord’s Supper next Sunday morning.

Coffee Break will meet this Tuesday, May 19, for their annual luncheon beginning at 11:30 AM.
MEALS NEEDED
Meals are needed for several families in our congregation who are going through difficult times. If you are able to help, contact Ginny Steensma at 973-697-3326. The gift of a delicious home-cooked meal is a huge help and comfort and is a wonderful way to show Christ’s love and compassion.
COMPANIONSHIP OPPORTUNITY
During the week of May 18-22, from 1 to 5 PM, volunteers are needed to sit with Gert Troast while her caregiver takes a break. No lifting required, just your presence. Call Jule Ann at 551-206-6166 if you are able to help out.
TOWN HALL MEETING
The Council invites you to a Town Hall meeting next Sunday, May 17, immediately following morning worship. The purpose of this meeting will be to communicate the results of recent Council discussions regarding the role of women as deacons at Cedar Hill CRC. Plan to join us for this important presentation.
JACKALS GAME
Cedar Hill will once again by attending a Jackals baseball game at Montclair State University on Saturday, June 13. Game time is 6:35 PM and the evening will conclude with fireworks. Tickets are $10 each. Please contact Jeff or Mary Beth Steiginga to reserve your tickets by May 31.

Join the Ditto Upscale Resale team by becoming a volunteer (ages high school to retirees) for the months of June, July, and August. No experience necessary, just a willingness to serve while having fun. Volunteer positions include cashiers, donation room sorters, and selling floor workers. All volunteers receive a 10-20% discount on purchases. Ditto is a ministry of Eastern Christian Schools. JUSTICE CONFERENCE

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING ~
Congratulations to Roy and Peggy Heerema and family on the birth of twin grandsons, William Dutch and Jude Atticus, on Friday, May 1st. They are welcomed by parents Julie and Derek Ferwerda, big sister Mackenzie, and big brother Abram. The twins weighed in at 8 lbs, 1 ounce, and 6 lbs. 14 ounces.
PRAYER OF HEALING ~
Pray for Tannette Botbyl and her family, as well as her doctors as they determine the cause and treatment of the leg pain that she is experiencing.
Pray for Jay and Marge Faber as he planned to undergo surgery on Thursday, May 14, with ongoing treatments to follow. Pray for peace for Jay, wisdom for the doctors, and a complete recovery.
Stan Vandenberg expects to undergo total hip replacement surgery on Wednesday, May 13. Pray for peace prior to surgery, for the doctors wisdom during surgery, and for a complete recovery following surgery.
PRAYER OF SYMPATHY ~
Pray for Russell and Stacy Snapper, Jay and Marge Faber’s son-in-law & daughter, as Russell’s father, Hans, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10. Keep this family as well as all families who have recently suffered a loss in your prayers as they grieve.
