As recovery from the SR 530 Slide continues, local state, tribal and federal partners are working together to make every effort to procure capabilities from vendors that reside in, or primarily do business in the disaster impacted areas.
When local vendors cannot provide the capabilities, or all available sources have been exhausted, FEMA may expand its geographical search. However, the expanded search may remain within the respective states where disasters have occurred. Additionally FEMA disaster contracting officialsseek out local small businesses for purchases.
TheProcurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is a resource that can assist you in this process. PTAC offers a variety of resources to prepare you for work with the Federal Government, as well as procurement opportunities at the state and local levels. Their service is free of charge:

For your company to be eligible to do business with FEMA, please follow these steps:
1.Obtain a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number
2.Register with the System for Award Management (SAM)
3.Complete FEMA Vendor Profile form and submit it to FEMA
Steps to Follow:
- DUNS Number
All U.S. Government contractors globally can receive a DUNS number for a federal contract at no charge. It typically takes 1-2 business days when using the Dun and Bradstreet website to register ( and a number can usually be received immediately by phone (866-705-5711).
- SAM (System for Award Management) Registration
If you were not previously registered with CCR, please go to to register. This is a free service. Should you have any questions about the SAM registration process, please contact the SAM Service Desk at 866-606-8220.
- Vendor Profile
Once registered with SAM, please submit a completed FEMA Profile to the Industry Liaison Support Center. The form may be obtained at or by contacting the FEMA Industry Liaison Program
