BXL (Brothers Experiencing Life) Biography
BXL represents Rap music as it should be: timeless, sensational and honest. This phenomenal Bronx based trio is here to replenish what’s been missing from Rap music. Hip-Hop can be heard everywhere, from music videos, to commercials, to children's parties. The music loving public still has a need to hear relatable stories told through music. Hip-Hop was never meant to be only a trend, but a way of life.
Leading the way of the new wave in Hip Hop is a group from the Bronx called BXL which stands for: Brother's eXperiencing Life. Formed in the Bronx where Hip-Hop originated, BXL consists of Osnan Melendez AKA Buddy Mylez, Joseph Galarza AKA Joe Dirt, and Anthony Robinson AKA Severe Persy Jones. BXL maintains they’ve always been fans of hip-hop having been inspired by Jay-Z, KRS-1, Notorious BIG, Tupac and the late Bronx rapper Big Pun to name a few. It was only natural that rapping together would eventually unite them in pursuing a serious music career. All three members have contributed their talents to the music industry in one way or another.
As the youngest of the three, Severe Persy Jones is the foundation of the music that BXL has built together. At the age of fourteen, Severe was already composing tunes on a keyboard. At the 2007 Underground Awards, he was nominated for "Best Producer of the Year. In addition, he has produced for major league artists (Jadakiss and Uncle Murda). Severe is on his way to the top. With a "hard hitting" production style and smooth lyricism, he aspires to go as far as the music game can take him.
Osnan "Buddy Mylez" Melendez is the lyrical poet of the crew. From New York, to London, to Germany, to Bermuda and back. Mylez has built an international fan-base that has earned him respect as an MC across the globe. His talents have been recognized with four prestigious awards; ThaUnderground.net's L.A. Virgil Artist of the Year of 2006, Best Rap Artist, and 2007 Best Freestyle, as well as repeating L.A. Virgil Artist of the Year for the second year in a row.
While other artists write about "Street Life", Joseph "Joe Dirt" Galarza writes about his own experiences. No fraud or imitators here. Joe has a natural knack for moving crowds. He also has the ability to combine stage presence with mesmerizing skills on the mic. Joe performed at the 2007 Underground Awards with Severe and Buddy Mylez as well. Joe Dirt recently captured awards for Best Artist Of The Year 2008 and Best Song of The Year 2008 on ThaUnderground.net.
