Students Evaluate Students
Instructions: You must evaluate at least four websites (other than your own). You have been specifically assigned three websites. Choose one additional websites in addition to the ones assigned so that you come up with four evaluations.
After carefully reviewing and reading each site, thoughtfully fill out the following information FOR EACH WEBSITE. Be sure that you base each of your evaluations and suggestions on the project goal and intended audience for each website, not on your personal likes and dislikes.
These evaluations should be printed and brought to the final on exam day – Dec. 13, 10am.

- Is there text on every page and post of the website?
- Is the text meaningful to the topic/title of the page/posts? Would it meet good SEO requirements? How?
- Is there some kind of information on the home page that helps you to understand what the website is about?
- Is there a page with more information about the author of this website? Does this information enhance the project goal of the website? Why/How?
- Is there a way to contact the author of the website?
- How are posts used on this website?
- How are pages used on this website?
- After reading each page /post, is the text written in an understandable way. Are there grammatical mistakes such as misspellings, words not capitalized or inconsistently capitalized, incomplete or rambling sentences, information that makes no sense? List any instances that you see.
- Are the pages “readable” – headers of appropriate hierarchy incorporated, paragraphs not too long, ordered or unordered-listsused? Describe any pages where these characteristics could be improved and how. If you see no need for improvement, describe the qualities of one page that represents good usage.
- Are the page/post attributes handled consistently throughout the website – all text, titles and images aligned consistently and predictably throughout the website. Describe pages where this is not done –or – if done well describe the decisions applied to the page/post(s).
- Is the choice of font readable and appropriate for the site? In what way?
- Is the use of color and styling consistent and appropriate for this website? Describe this usage.
- Do the number and amount of content on the site create a fully functional, investigated website that serves the needs of the intended audience? If not what do you think is missing? What additional content would you recommend including?
