Slawomir Dobrzanski joined the music faculty at Kansas State University in the fall of 2005. As a pianist, Dr. Dobrzanski performed a soloist in several European countries, South America, and throughout the United States. As a soloist, he performed with such orchestras as the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Poland, the “Leopoldinum” Chamber Orchestra. “Connecticut Virtuosi” Chamber Orchestra, “Amadeus” Orchestra, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. He participated in the “Potomac River Piano Festival”, Mozart Festival in Poznan, Poland, Chopin Festival in Antonin, Poland, ‘Warsaw Autumn” Contemporary Music Festival, Festival of Polish Pianists in Slupsk, Poland, Chopin Festival of Hawaii, Chopin & Friends Festival in New York City, Darmstadt Festival of New Music in Darmstadt, Germany, “Music Gettysburg!” Festival in Gettysburg, El Paso Chopin Music Festival, and Chopin Festival in Miami, FL.

Dr. Dobrzanski is a founding member of the “Atma” Piano Trio, with cellist Cheung Chau and violinist Blanka Bednarz.

In addition to his performing career, Dr. Dobrzanski is an active member of the Music Teachers Association and has served as the president-elect of the Rhode Island MTA in the years 2004-2005. He was the founder and artistic director of the Frederic Chopin Society of Connecticut. He is also an author of a book “Maria Szymanowska”, published in 2006 by the Polish Music Center at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

At the Kansas State University, Dr. Dobrzanski teaches individual piano lessons and courses in piano literature.

His hobbies include studying environmental, minority and other social issues, travel, history of religion, history of pianism, literature, poetry, and languages.
