ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Effective communication and engagement with children, young people. /- Provide support and encouragement to children
- Listen in a calm, open, non-threatening manner and use questions to check understanding and acknowledge that you have heard what is being said.
Child and young person development /
- Deliver learning activities to pupils within an agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.
- Work within the School’s agreed discipline policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control and independence.
- Know how to obtain support and report concerns.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child /
- Be responsible for safeguarding the welfare of children and young people that you are responsible for and come into contact with.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security.
- Have an awareness and basic knowledge of the most recent legislation.
Multi agency working /
- Liaise with teachers to support achievement and progress of pupils.
- Liaise with Harrogate Sports Partnership to deliver sports competitions
- Develop sporting links with other primary schools
Sharing information /
- Liaise between other staff in the school
- Attend staff meetings, training days and courses by agreement with the Headteacher
Administration/Other /
- Organise and manage appropriate environment and resources
- Under the guidance of the class teacher be responsible for marking the register if required.
- Complete relevant administrative tasks for sporting competitions.
Health & Safety / Ensures compliance with Health and Safety procedures and promotes best practice.
