Upper Class Scholarship
Rules & Guidelines
1. Scholarship is open to both males and females. Applicant must be a Missouri resident.
2. Applicant must be a full-time college student, who has completed their freshman year, and have a GPA of 2.5/4.0 or better. Applicant must have been a full time student the previous year and not have reached their 23rd birthday by January 1, 2015. Applicant must attend an accredited college or university to collect scholarship; technical schools do not qualify.
3. Applicant must submit the most recent available college transcript for proof of grade point average and enrollment. Transcript should be included with the application. Only typed applications will be accepted.
4. Applicant must submit two (2) letters of recommendation. Letters should be included with the application.
5. Applicant must demonstrate leadership potential through extracurricular activities and work experiences. Applicant should also demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
6. At the judges’ discretion, preference may be given to students who are attending Missouri colleges and universities with their area of study in the field of agriculture and food production. Special preference may be given for areas of study related to beef production.
7. Missouri Cattlewomen Scholarship Committee will submit applications to a panel of judges. All applicants will be notified via email by December 18, 2015. Scholarship recipient will be honored during the Missouri Cattle Industry Convention & Trade Show, January 7-9, 2016 at Tan-Tar-A Resorts, Osage Beach, Missouri.
8. One, One-Thousand dollar ($1,000) scholarship will be awarded.
9. Scholarship will be payable during the calendar year 2016. To redeem scholarship, recipient must provide the Missouri CattleWomen with proof of college enrollment. Funds for scholarship will be sent directly to the recipient’s institution. In the event a recipient does not use all of the funding, the unused portion shall be returned to Missouri CattleWomen.
10. Applications must be returned to Kasey Wallace and be postmarked by November 27, 2015 to be considered.

§ Use only the space provided. No additional pages should be added, except where specified (i.e. essay, transcript…). Resumes and/or extra pages will not be forwarded to the judges.
§ Please mail application packet in an appropriate sized flat envelope and with appropriate postage.
§ It is not necessary to staple, specially bind application materials or use special paper, color ink or graphics. Applications will be photocopied and provided to the selection committee in black and white.
§ Applications will be scored using the following point system: Leadership – 30 points; Communication – 15 points; Community Involvement – 15 points; Agriculture Involvement – 15 points; Scholarship/Academic – 10 points; Financial Need – 15 points.
