Mission:The Foundation AreaRepresentatives (FAR’s) will help to educate, motivate and cultivate club Rotarians in the programs of The Rotary Foundation. They will work with Club Foundation Chairs to bring the Foundation to life for all club members and to increase club support both monetarily and through the recruitment of VTT, Scholar and Grant participants at the local level and through contributions to programs of The Rotary Foundation such as Polio Plus. The FAR’s will support the Assistant Governors in their relationship with the Club Presidents.

Your Clubs
- Identify the Clubs in your Area
- Identify the Foundation Chairs in each Club and make certain that their names have been entered in DACdb under the list of Club Positions (CFC-TRF); for any Club without a Chair, contact the President and encourage appointment of a chair
- Identify the Club Stewards in each Club (and ensure the position is entered in DACdb); for any Club without a Steward, contact the President and encourage
- Training of at least two Club members to be Stewards
- Appointment of a Club Steward (grants can’t be applied for without one);
- Confirm that each of your Clubs has set a minimum TRF Annual Giving goal. Clubs should be encouraged to also set Polio and Permanent Fund Goals as shown on the RI web site; if any Club has not set goals, contact the President and encourage goal-setting (Club President, Secretary or CFC-TRF to add the Club’s goals to the list on My Rotary/Rotary Club Central on the RI web site.
Contacts
- Contact your Assistant Governor (AG) to see if he/she has any specific instructions for you and to offer your assistance regarding Foundation matters
- Contact each Club’s President to introduce yourself and offer assistance
- Contact each Club’s Foundation Chair at least once each quarter
- Provide a copy of the Foundation Chair job description (on DACdb – go to Committees and then to Foundation Area Representatives)
- Provide a copy of the Foundation calendar
- Provide help in accessing the “Club Rotary Foundation Committee Manual”
- Review calendar of events for upcoming months, including Foundation month, Foundation dinner, Foundation training seminars, and District Assembly
- Review progress in meeting the Club’s TRF goals
- Communicate with your Foundation chairs regularly (by e-mail, phone or in person)
- Offer ideas for Foundation Moments; remind them to make requests for EREY
- Remind them to make a pitch for donations at year-end (December)
- Encourage them to develop ideas for grants – Matching Grants and Global Grants – and remind them of deadlines
- Assist club recruitment of Peace Scholars, Global Grant Scholars, Service Above Self Scholars, and VTT Team Members and Leaders
- Make Chairs familiar with the EREY and monthly CRS reports
- Visit your Clubs 3 -5 times per year so they can put a name and face together and there can be a TRF presence at their meetings
- Thank those who have given to TRF to date
- Recognize Paul Harris Fellows in the Club and participate in presentation of Paul Harris Fellow pins, etc.
- Alert Club President, Club Foundation Chair and Speaker Chair about
available speakers. Encourage Foundation alumni speakers.
- Suggest Foundation programs and encourage Clubs to have at least four or
five programs a year that relate to TRF
- Share successful Matching Grant stories in your area and the District.
Foundation Giving
- Familiarize yourself with the various ways of giving to TRF and the various recognitions available and encourage your Clubs to have members donate throughout the year: ()
- EREY (any amount)
- Sustaining Member ($100)
- Double Sustaining Member ($200)
- Paul Harris Fellow ($1,000 cumulative to TRF, Polio Plus or an approved Foundation grant)
- Major Donors ($10,000 cumulative)
- Paul Harris Society ($1,000 annually to TRF, Polio Plus or an approved Foundation grant)
- Encourage 100% EREY participation and 100% Sustaining Member participation
- Encourage Clubs to recognize their TRF donors in visible and significant ways
- Monitor the progress of your Clubs in reaching their TRF goals (go to to see progress of your particular Area in meeting goals)
- Congratulate your Clubs on their progress in TRF giving
