A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND DR. CELESTE HIOTT SPRINGER FOR HER DEDICATION AS A SOUTH CAROLINA WIFE, MOTHER, AND PROFESSIONAL, TO THANK HER FOR HER WORK IN NUMEROUS COMMUNITY PROJECTS, AND TO CONGRATULATE HER ON BEING CHOSEN MRS. SOUTH CAROLINA AMERICA 2003.
Whereas, Celeste Hiott Springer was awarded the title of “Mrs. South Carolina America 2003” on Saturday, June 21, 2003, and also won awards for marriage longevity, most fit, and advertisement sales in the state competition; and
Whereas, Dr. Celeste Springer competed in the nationally televised Mrs. America Pageant in Hawaii on September 19, 2003, which involved a personal interview, state costume, swimsuit, and evening gown competition; and
Whereas, serving her community and State through such activities as the South Carolina Coalition Promoting Physical Activity and the Greater Columbia Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Dr. Springer is also involved with Project Pet, “Give Kids A Smile”, “Smiles for Life Foundation”, and her practice’s annual Children’s Dental Day for underprivileged children; and
Whereas, participating in a multitude of benefit runs, charity functions, and festivals as Mrs. South Carolina, Dr. Springer has also spoken on and promoted “Fitness for Life” at various hospitals, health facilities, and schools around the Palmetto State; and
Whereas, the coowner with her husband of the Aesthetic Smile Studio Dental Office, Dr. Springer is also a member of Northside Baptist Church, and she lives her life by example representing good moral character, integrity, and strong family values; and
Whereas, Dr. Celeste Springer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Hiott of Columbia and she resides in Lexington with her husband, Dr. Bryan Springer, and their two children, Garrett and Jared. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend Dr. Celeste Hiott Springer for her dedication as a South Carolina wife, mother, and professional, thank her for her work in numerous community service projects, and congratulate her on being chosen as Mrs. South Carolina America 2003.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Celeste Hiott Springer of Lexington.
