Dear Parents,
Hiawatha Middle School is a “Title I Schoolwide” program serving all children. All staff, resources, and classes are included in this program. The purpose is to develop the highest levels of academic achievement in core subject areas for all students, especially those most in need.
School-wide programs are required to provide opportunities for parents to get involved in their child’s education and to provide resources for parents to support learning at home. This opportunity for parental involvement will take place during the ‘Back to School Night’ on Tuesday, August 16th (which runs from 5:00-6:00pm). The following times are offered for the different class levels and will be hosted by the core teachers.
5th Grade Science Room: 5:00 p.m.
6th Grade Science Room: 5:15 p.m.
7th Grade Science Room: 5:30 p.m.
8th Grade Science Room: 5:45 p.m.
Title 1 staff will also hold their annual meeting on the same evening. Mrs. Vitt will visit with you about the program and answer any questions you might have. Two ‘sessions’ will be offered and will take place in Mrs. Vitt’s room at the following times:
Session 1: 5:00 p.m.
Session 2: 5:30 p.m.
