After attending the Semester Orientation, students will be able to identify at least three campus resources and/or policies and how to access them.
After attending the Semester Orientation, students will have experienced interprofessional teamwork and will identify a strong interest in participating in further interprofessional activities while at EWU/WSU Spokane / Online Survey: Student were asked to complete a survey online. Students who signed up for a texting app were sent a link to the survey. In addition, students were given the option of completing the survey at an information table at the Resource Fair. Students were given the opportunity win a Kindle Fire for submitting the survey. / Survey was sent at Orientation on August 18.
Results: Of the 88 EWU students that RSVPed to the Semester Orientation, 83 students attended and 26 of those students completed the survey.
Of those that responded to the survey, on average students agreed to strongly agreed with the following statements:
  • I made at least one new positive connection with a student, staff or faculty member as a result of my participation in today’s campus orientation.
  • I can identify at least 3 WSU/EWU Spokane campus resources and/or policies and how to access them.
  • During today’s Orientation, I experienced interprofessional teamwork.
  • I am interested in participating in further interprofessional activities while at WSU/EWU Spokane.

Spokane Student Services / Practical Competence / Campus Tour Training / When the student employee completes the Campus Tour Training, the student will be able to answer basic questions about the Spokane campus and will now how to make referrals to appropriate campus departments. / At the completion of the training, students will be asked to answer five frequently asked questions. My goals will be that the employee will be able to answer all five questions appropriately. / Student employees will complete training throughout the Fall.
Spokane Student Services / Interpersonal/ Intrapersonal Competence / Networking Events / After attending this program, students will be able to demonstrate how to introduce themselves in professional social settings. / Faculty/Staff and employers will be asked to complete a short survey asking them for feedback on how well students introduced themselves. / Event is tentatively scheduled for February 22.
Counseling and Psychological Services / Interpersonal & Intrapersonal Competence / TAO (Therapist Assisted Online) / At completion of the seven anxiety modules in TAO (approximately one per week), participating students will know how to better cope and monitor their experience of anxiety as evidenced by an increase in their Global Mental Health score on the BHM-20, as well as a decrease in reported anxiety symptoms on the BHM-20. / BHM-20 [The BHM-20 is a 21-item client-report questionnaire that assesses the three phases of behavioral health: well-being, psychological symptoms, and life functioning] / Students are assessed weekly during TAO treatment.
