The NAPA President, Zena Huen, opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and asking the outgoing NAPA President to provide any last thoughts.

Peter Nguyen provided an outgoing statement and indicated that the old functions are being transferred to the new officers, the old officers are here to assist, and that there are lessons learned that can be provided. Dan Treadwell had a question regarding how NAPA and FAPAC are going to inter-relate, etc., with both having requirements for dues. Peter indicated that NAPA is a FAPAC Chapter, and that we are trying to get support for NAPA meetings from FAPAC (e.g., reimbursement for lunch). Peter noted that the FAPAC dues are $36 per year, and of that, $12 goes to NAPA. Peter indicated that discussion of dues was going to occur at a meeting with FAPAC. There was also some discussion of the FAPAC Chapter designation but this discussion had to be tabled due to lack of time.

Rory Puzon provided a report on the AGL Chapter. The AGL Chapter is getting involved with Aviation program at local university. They’re having a membership drive, and there has been interest expressed. Also aviation camps. There was NAPA Day, held on September 30, 2010, and the Regional Administrator, Deputy Regional Administrator, Civil Rights, and others participated. Zena would like to have AGL and AMC post pictures on NAPA website.

Tony de la Vega noted that the Conference and Quarterly meetings are the focus of the Oklahoma City Chapter. Also, OK City is looking at various Leadership Development programs for advancement. OK City is looking forward to the next Conference, and may have useful lessons learned type information for the subcommittee persons. Tony noted that persons should not hesitate to ask for help. Kevin noted that he had contacted Tony last week for some information and appreciated very much the help he got from OK City. Tony indicated that OK City was waiting for the Constitution/By-Laws to be unveiled before instituting a membership drive. OK City wants to get more involved in Aviation Education activities, and to draw more younger folks into aviation education programs. Tony wanted to know if anyone was going to the “Mids” in Sacramento in February. There will be a telecom on December 1st. Peter noted that this is usually considered a personal trip.

Anthony Chu, Zena Huen, and Thuy Ha are meeting the morning of 11/04/10 to transfer the Transportation Federal Credit Union bank accounts, etc. over to Anthony and Zena, including signature authority. There are also some other records such as Tax-exempt ID, budget reports, etc that Thuy will be transferring, some of which can probably be thrown away. Thuy noted that the Sky One Federal Credit Union* accounts only have about $25 in them. Zena took an Action Item to meet with Thuy to discuss the Sky One accounts, and will contact the Business Manager from Sky One, Dina Jimenez, to discuss also. The accounts will possibly be cancelled, although it was originally established with the expectation that Sky One might become a sponsor.

Dan Treadwell indicated that just about all the Secretarial records had been transferred to Minh, including membership lists from Lotus Notes and Meeting Minutes for the last two years. Dan noted that things have changed since there is now a category of members that have paid dues versus non-dues paying members. Anthony thought that this would be a good issue for the membership committee (not yet established). Anthony suggested sending out an email requesting volunteers for participation in various committees; e.g., membership. Kevin Le took an action to write up various options for this area.

Anthony Chu indicated that he felt that there was little to no publicity on NAPA. The website was discussed, and it was noted that Thong Vu is webmaster, but does not perform content functions. Peter noted that we have a contract with Millenium that allows changes to the website. Right now Thong and Peter are the only ones with management rights.

Zena indicated that she would like to have quarterly membership meetings, and there was some discussion regarding the frequency of meetings. Peter thought that quarterly might be too infrequent. The 2nd week of December is considered a possible for a general membership meeting. Ed Moy is retiring, and there was some discussion about a possible luncheon or other tribute for him. Peter noted that we might want to consider another category of membership for retirees, etc)

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
