SEVEN PLAYER FLAG FOOTBALL RULES

GENERAL RULES

  1. GAMES ARE PLAYED WITH SEVEN PLAYERS MAXIMUM AND A MINIMUM OF FIVE PLAYERS ON FIELD.
  2. TEAMS ARE ALLOWED 3 DOWNS TO REACH THE 30 YD LINE, 3 DOWNS TO REACH THE 15 YD LINE, AND 4 DOWNS ONCE INSIDE THE 15 YD LINE.
  3. UPON SCORING TEAMS WILL BE AWARDED 6 POINTS. ALL POINT AFTER ATTEMPTS WILL BE ONE DOWN FROM THE 7 YD LINE FOR 1 POINT.
  4. GAMES WILL HAVE A CONTINUOUS GAME CLOCK WITH TWO - TWENTY (20) MINUTE HALVES AND A 10 MINUTE HALFTIME. TEAMS WILL HAVE 1 (ONE) - 1 MINUTE TIME OUT PER HALF.
  5. IN THE CASE OF AN INJURY THE PLAYER MUST LEAVE THE FIELD BUT MAY RETURN TO THE GAME AS SOON AS THEY HAVE RECOVERED
  6. TEAMS ARE ALLOWED TWO 1 HOUR PRACTICES PER WEEK OR ONE 2 HOUR PRACTICE A WEEK
  7. FIELD SHALL BE 45 YARDS IN LENGTH AND STANDARD IN WIDTH
  8. PLAYS BEGIN WITH THE SNAP PASSING BETWEEN THE LEGS OF THE CENTER TO THE QB EITHER UNDER CENTER OR IN SHOTGUN. A HANDOFF, LATERAL OR FORWARD PASS BETWEEN THE OFFENSIVE TEAM MEMBERS IS LEGAL OR THE QUARTERBACK MAY RUN THE BALL IN THE B GAP OR WIDER. QB SNEAKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. ALL PLAYERS BUT THE CENTER ARE ELIGIBLE RECEIVERS AND BALL CARRIERS. NO RUNNER IS ALLOWED TO RUN IN THE A GAPS. ALL PLAYS MUST BE RAN OUTSIDE OF THE GAURDS.
  9. BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE THE BALL MAY BE HANDED TO ANOTHER ELIGIBLE PLAYER IN ANY DIRECTION AND BEYOND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE IT MUST BE LATERAL OR BACKWARDS
  10. THE BALL CARRIER IS DOWNED WHEN ONE OF THE PLAYERS FLAGS IS REMOVED OR FALLS OFF AT THE POINT WHERE THE FLAG FIRST CAME OFF. THE BALL BECOMES DEAD WHENEVER IT COMES INTO POSSESSION OF A PLAYER WITHOUT THREE FLAGS.
  11. THERE IS NO SAFETY. A PLAY MADE PAST THE 45 YD LINE PUTS THE BALL IN PLAY FROM THE 45 YARDS LINE WITH THE DOWN JUST PLAYED BEING LOST.
  12. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CENTER AND THE QUARTERBACK PLAYERS WILL START IN A TWO PONT STANCE WITH BOTH HANDS ON KNEES IN A SEMI-SQUAT POSITION.
  13. IF RUNNERS KNEE TOUCHES THE GROUND THE BALL IS DEAD AT THAT SPOT.
  14. A CENTERED BALL THAT TOUCHES THE GROUND OR A FUMBLED BALL IS DEAD AT THE SPOT IT TOUCHES THE GROUND WITH POSSESSION GOING TO THE TEAM IN CONTROL OF THE BALL PRIOR TO THE FUMBLE.
  15. TWO COACHES MAY REMAIN ON THE FIELD TO ASSIST THEIR TEAM DURING THE ENTIRE GAME. COACHES MAY GIVE VERBAL ASSISTANCE ONLY UNTIL THE SNAP OF THE BALL
  16. ALL BLOCKERS ARE ALLOWED TO EXTEND THEIR ARMS WHILE BLOCKING. NORMAL NCAA HOLDING RULES SHALL APPLY.

FLAG DIVISION EQUIPMENT

  1. CANVAS OR LEATHER TOP ATHLETIC SHOES, IF CLEATS THEY MUST BE MOLDED TYPE -NO SCREW IN CLEATS
  2. COLORED MOUTH GUARDS ARE REQUIRED BY ALL PLAYERS TO PARTICIPATE
  3. FLAG BELTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE VELCRO TYPE (PROVIDED BY NCT) WITH A FLAG LENGTH OF AT LEAST 18 INCHES. FLAGS SHALL NOT BE ALTERED IN ANY WAY OR THE TEAM SHALL FORFEIT.
  4. FOOTBALL IS THE SAME AS USED IN BANTAM DIVISION, A WILSON K-2 OR EQUIVALENT
  5. PLAYERS MUST WEAR SHIRTS TUCKED IN. SHIRTS THAT MAY NOT HINDER PLAYER IN REMOVING FLAG

ADDITTIONAL PENALTIES

  1. FLAG WILL FOLLOW NCAA RULES WITH EXCEPTIONS LISTED BEOW.
  2. INTENTIONAL BODY CONTACT WITH A PLAYER WHO IS ON THE GROUND OR WHO IS PASSING OR ATTEMPTING TO CATCH THE BALL.

(15 YARDS)-POSSIBLE EJECTION

  1. BALLCARRIER MAYNOT DELIBERATELY DRIVE OR RUN INTO A DEFENSIVE PLAYER OR USE A STIFF ARM TO WARD OFF THE DEFENSE

(10 YARD FROM SPOT OF THE FOUL)

  1. BALL CARRIER PROTECTING FLAG

(10 YARDS PENALTY-SPOT FOUL)

  1. NO DEFENSIVE LINEMAN MAY LINE UP DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CENTER OR IN THE A GAPS. LINEBACKERS IN FRONT OF THE CENTER MUST BE AT LEAST THREE YARDS FROM THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE (5 YARD)
  2. UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

ALL UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS PENALTIES ARE 15 YDS AND POSSIBLE EJECTION FROM THE GAME.
