A Recipe for Your Dog

BLUEBERRY FRUIT ROLLUPS

Blueberries form the base for this snack to share with Spot - but feel freeto substitute other fruits in season. The rollups make a great treat forlong dog walks and can easily be torn into small pieces.

YIELDS: 5 (1 1/2 " x 6") strips

1 pound fresh or frozen blueberries

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon raw honey

1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree. Add a tablespoon of water if necessary.

3. Spread mixture over parchment paper, avoiding the edges of the paper.

4. Bake 6-7 hours until the rollups are no longer sticky. Remove from oven and cool completely.

5. Cut into strips and refrigerate. Refrigerate for 5 days.

Berry, Berry Good Rollups

These treats are easy to make in a dehydrator as well! Cut parchment

paper to fit your dehydrator trays, being careful to leave plenty of room

for air flow. Rearrange the trays every few hours for even drying, remove from dehydrator when no longer sticky.

AWARDS!!

If you are eligible for an award for 2015 please get me your info as soon as possible. If you have an old style plaque, the kind with the plates with the white tape on them, please bring me the entire plaque. The new style plates DO NOT fit the old plaques properly. It is MUCH easier for our engraver to make adjustments to plates to fit plaques if she has the whole thing. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail or by phone or bring your “stuff” to Winterfest!

Something to

Howl About!

Jennie Macaluso and Christopher Ruditys are so proud to announce that Nachusa’s Little Black Titan (Phoebe) qualified for the 3rd AKC Rally National Championship in Tulsa, OK next March. In order to qualify for the Nationals, a dog and handler must score three legs of their title with 90 points or more, out of a total 100 possible points. BTW . . . Rock’in Ralphie Ruditys (Ralphie) would have qualified too, but a handler error cost him 10 points. Instead of a receiving a score of 98, he received an 88! Hooray for Phoebe and a big National bummer for Jennie and Ralph! Incidentally, Ralph and Jennie have their sights set on UKC Rally. Ralph scored a perfect 100, First Place, and High in Trial on his first leg of Novice; while Phoebe scored a 94 (Fourth Place) at the Dodge County KC show in December. Fingers crossed as we try for our title and scores above 90 points for our next two legs.

Sommit’s Junuh CDX RE OA WC earned her OAJ titleon Dec 19th at the Tree Town Boxer Club Agility Trial. Junuh is owned and bred by Linda Waco and Sue Sommer and is followed by Linda.
