Classification of Public High Schools in XXXX, XXXX

During the last academic year, many people have moved into the XXXX, Virginia area. Families with teenage children have been a large part of this new population. In order to aide these families in relocation decisions, the XXXX City School Board has compiled data that classifies the city’s public high schools. The following is a classification of the public high schools in XXXX, XXXX: Public School One (PS #1), Public School Two (PS #2) and Public School Three (PS #3). These schools are classified according to teacher student ratioand grades.

  1. Public School One (PS #1)

Teacher-Student Ratio

  1. Twenty-five percent (25%) percent of the classes has one teacher to every twenty students.

Classes have accelerated courses.

Classes employ a seminar style of teaching.

All students enrolled in classes are students, with a 4.0 GPA.

  1. Seventy percent (70%) of the classes has one teacher to every thirty students.

Classes have grade appropriate courses.

Classes employ a traditional of teaching.

Students enrolled have between a 4.0 GPA and a 2.0 GPA.

  • Five (5%) of the students enrolled have a 4.0 GPA;
  • Sixty percent (60%) of the students enrolled have a 3.0-4.9 GPA;
  • Thirty-five (35 %) of the students enrolled have a 2.0-2.9 GPA.
  1. Five percent (5%) of the classes has one teacher and one teacher’s aide to every ten students.

Classes have developmental courses.

Classes employ a one-to-one style of teaching.

Students enrolled have between a 3.0 GPA and a GPA below 2.0.

  • Ten percent (10%) of the students enrolled have a 3.0 GPA;
  • Twenty (20%) of the students enrolled have a 2.0-2.9 GPA,
  • Seventy (70%) of the students enrolled have below a 2.0 GPA.

90% of the 10% showed content competence

85% of the 10% showed performance competence.

70% of the 10% showed proficiency competence.

  • Mathematics = 80%
  • Science = 70%
