Nursery Group Leader
The Nursery meets each weekday morning. Twenty toddlers aged two and three come to it. You employ eight people to help run the Nursery. There are no other Nurseries nearby. /
Vicar
The Community Centre has been used for Church Services on Sunday mornings for the last five years. They started using it because the ParishChurch is a mile away and without a car it is difficult to get there. Many of the people who come are elderly.
Youth Club Leader
There are a lot of young people living in the area around the Community Centre. The Youth Club had been started two years ago to provide them with somewhere to meet and to stop them causing trouble around the streets. It meets on Friday and Saturday evenings. /
Lunch Club Organiser
Each Tuesday and Thursday there is a Lunch Club held in the Community Centre. This is for old people and usually about thirty people come for this meal. This is an important social event for the old people and they have a good meal that costs only £2.50.
Bingo Organiser
About a hundred people come to play Bingo in the Community Centre each Monday and Wednesday evening. For many people who live alone it is an important night out and a chance to meet up with friends. /
Badminton Club Secretary
The Badminton Club meets in the Community Centre on Thursday evenings. There are only about fifteen people in the club but it has been meeting there for the last ten years.
Superstore Manager
In this area there are no large supermarkets and people have to go at least a mile to do their shopping, or buy what they need from the corner shops. A new supermarket will also provide a lot of new jobs for local people. /
Local Councillor
The councillor has always lived in this area and attends services at the Community Centre each Sunday. The Youth Club was also the Councillor's idea. But, unemployment is a problem in this area.
