What is the Coastal Volleyball Club?

The Coastal Volleyball Club Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded to promote volleyball in the Southeastern New England Region. It is a club where a beginner or expert can play volleyball all year round. There is no age limit in its membership and playing experience is not required.

What is Coastal Juniors?

The Coastal Juniors Volleyball Program began in 1991 and is a part of the New England Region Juniors Volleyball Program. We train young players from age 3 up to age 18 (or their senior year in High School) to play and compete at their own levels.

Can anyone tryout and are there cuts?

Anyone who is under 18 years old and not graduated from High School can play. Tryouts mean you will be trying out for particular levels of play. You will not be turned away as long as we have the coaches to run teams AND you sign a commitment agreement.

Is it fun?

One of the requirements of our program is that coaches and players have fun while learning to play volleyball. We stress positive attitudes in our program from both coaches and players. Please feel free to ask any of our players about our program and its goals.

2016-2017 –Girls Open Level

The 2016-17 Girls Open Level Program will begin on Sunday November 06, 2016 – This is an open level tryout and you must receive an acceptance email in order to attend. Players are responsible for their own hotel, travel and meal fees. Coastal will reserve the rooms for players and parents. Players may not miss more than 1 tournament and/or 1 practice. Practices will be held on Sundays and Thursday.

2017 Girls Club Team Program

This program will compete in tournaments in the New England Region. Players may not miss more than 1 tournament and/or 2 practices.

The 2017 GirlsClub Level program will begin on Sunday January 8, 2017 and run until May 7. We will not have practices on Easter Sunday . Most of the time, teams will be practicing Sunday afternoon or nights at the Normandin Junior High gym.

2017 Girls Clinic Program

This program is aimed at developing basic skills and competition. Players will be assigned courts on which to practice. Teams will be coached by top-level players in the area and Coastal Juniors Coaches. Most practices and competitions will be held on Sunday afternoon or nights at the Normandin Junior High gym.

The Girls Clinic Program will begin on Sunday January 22, 2017 and run until April 30, 2017. Clinic players age 8 to 18 will practice for 1 hour.

Clinic Program players will not travel, as does the Open and Club Programs and will not receive uniforms and other gear.

1. Fill out the Coastal application and NERVA Online Membership application . These forms are on our website.

2. Application Deadlines are:

Our practice site is the Normendin Junior High School in New Bedford. For Directions please go to our Web Site.

Program Cost:

NOTE: Per vote of the New Bedford School committee – Normandin gym rental cost will be approximately $13,500 more than Coastal paid in 2014-2015.
