Physical Education at Dial Park Primary 2015-16
I have taken the Ofsted guidance on how the new P.E funding should be spent and tried to evidence how and where we are using our funding.
The additional funding we have received from the government to develop Physical Education in Dial Park Primary has been warmly welcomed. It is giving us opportunities as a whole staff to develop our subject knowledge, improve our curriculum, update our equipment, pay for transport to access competitions and festivals, so that the children are receiving higher quality physical education. The funding was initially for two years but it has now been extended to four, allowing us to use the money wisely to develop links with outside clubs and develop a curriculum that is sustainable long after the money has been withdrawn. We are still focusing on dance and gymnastics within our curriculum, and developing cross curricular links within P.E, paying particular attention to dance and the benefits/impact that has within the class room and with regards to boosting creativity in writing.
With thanks to the Stockport Sports Partnership (SSP), our School Sports Coordinator (SSCO) Debbie McKeever, Jude Riddings and of course our own staff, I am proud to say that we are meeting most of the issues highlighted by Ofsted, although the guidance is that onlysome of the headings below should be achieved with the new funding.
Here are my findings:
Aspects highlighted green are already being implemented, those highlighted orange are partially arranged for the coming year and those in red have been thought about and will be achieved by the end of the academic year 2016.
